Welcome

It gives me great pleasure to introduce you to Dane Bank Primary School. I hope you find this website useful in giving you information about our lovely school and that it helps to answer any questions you may have.

I am so proud to be Headteacher at Dane Bank Primary School, having worked here for the last 8 years. Our school is a welcoming and supportive place where our children learn and grow in a safe and warm atmosphere. I feel lucky to work with an incredible team of talented and committed staff who care deeply about our pupils’ learning and wellbeing. As a one-form entry school, Dane Bank is often described as having a ‘family feel’ and being an environment where individuals are nurtured and valued and staff make a real effort to get to know them and their lives outside school – this is something we are all extremely proud of. We hope to support our children in achieving their potential; making their best possible progress and developing themselves as emotionally literate and confident individuals. As a staff team, we are very proud to serve our local community and are grateful for the strong links we have with our families.

Following a recent school audit, we were so proud to receive this feedback: “Dane Bank Primary School is a warm and welcoming place to learn and work. The relationships within school at all levels were positive and respectful. Children were engaged with their learning, moved about school in a calm and orderly manner, and when spoken to they were happy and felt safe. The children spoke highly about the staff and the staff spoke equally highly about the children. It was a joy to be in such a warm and positive environment.” We feel that this sums up the relationships and culture that we foster in our school – a place where everyone is valued, cared for and supported to be the best they can be.
